In 1951, the first AI-based program was written to run on the Ferranti Mark 1

In 1955, the first self-learning game-playing program was created known as the Samuel Checkers-playing Program, which was the brainchild of Arthur Samuel.

In 1959, the MIT AI lab was set up by Marvin Minsky, “father of artificial intelligence”.

In 1961, the first robot named "Unimate" was introduced in General Motors's assembly line.

In 1964, we saw the first demo of an AI program that understands Natural Language

In 1965, the first chatbot "ELIZA" was invented.

In 1974, the first autonomous vehicle is created at Stanford AI Lab.

In 1989, Carnegie Mellon creates the first autonomous vehicle using a neural-network

In 1997, IBM's deep blue beats Garry Kasparov in a game of Chess

In 1999, Sony Launches Four-Legged Entertainment Robot named "AIBO"

In 2004, DARPA introduces the first autonomous vehicle challenge capable of driving on and off roads

In 2011, IBM's Watson beats Jeopardy's all-time champion

In 2012, Siri, Google now, Cortana become mainstream in the field of AI.

In 2015, Elon Musk announced 1 billion dollar donations to OpenAI

In 2016, Google's DeepMind beats Korean AlphaGo Champion
